The Adaptation and Mitigation Challenge

Conservation.

The 30x30 campaign calls for the urgent challenge of increasing urban protected areas by 2030 in the capitals.

Decarbonization.

Fulfilling Cities Race to Zero through the commitments already signed with the goal of neutrality requires a strategic plan published together with the Capitals.

Financing.

Obtaining genuine resources through the carbon market needs the support of satellites, methodology based on conservation science and a new financial architecture for the Capitals.

Legislation.

Climate legislation held by local governments must guarantee new opportunities through urgent measures for the citizens of the capital cities.

Innovation.

Climate technology to solve mitigation and adaptation problems must generate permanent work with the private sector and turn local spaces into laboratories on the capitals.

Dialogue.

In the framework of the Global and Local Balance, it is urgent to increase negotiations between national and subnational governments to unlock the objectives through the capitals.

Amplification.

CC35 with support from Miami-Dade County and key stakeholders in the Americas announces Climate Week Miami 2024 to strengthen the focus on the Global South and the action of subnational governments around the world.

London, Sydney, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Toronto and more than 60 other cities have joined the Treaty.

CC35 calls on the Governors and Mayors of the Capitals of the Americas to join in and accelerate decarbonization.

Every city needs a PLAN

From small transactions with local merchants to larger efforts, such as the payment of annual taxes, blockchain will serve as the basis for financial exchanges in the city of Lugano.
